Navigating Hair Care Myths for Grey Transitions

Myth: Grey Hair Transitions Happen Overnight

Grey Hair Transitions Don’t Happen Overnight

Transitioning to grey hair is a gradual journey requiring thoughtful blending and patience, rather than an overnight transformation. When I consult with guests about going grey, I emphasise the two key phases of transitioning to one’s natural colour.

Phase One involves creating a seamless blend with artificial colour. This part usually spans 2-3 sessions, where I carefully build up and integrate new tones that mimic what grows naturally and can be managed at home while allowing for a more natural look as we move into the next phase.

Phase Two is the gradual grow-out of all artificial colour, including the blended shades we established in Phase One. This stage is where your natural colour takes centre stage, and I equip you with the right home-care products so you can confidently let your hair grow out smoothly and reach 100% natural, colour-free hair over time.

Expecting an immediate, one-time transformation without further blending or a personalised care routine is unrealistic if you want a natural and effortless look. Achieving lasting, natural results requires patience, but following a well-paced, three-step plan will offer beautifully blended results.

It’s also important and exciting to know that embracing a blended grow-out doesn’t mean you have to fully commit to your natural colour right away. Many options are available that minimise visible regrowth lines and work with your natural tones while giving you the freedom to experiment with colour. If this sounds intriguing, I invite you to explore my service menu and discover the variety of options available to you on this journey to celebrate your unique beauty.
